Saraneae Federation Background

The Saraneae Federation is a reserved yet mysterious faction which occupies the Mid-North East of Terraineus in the lush Jungles of Skjöldunga. The Federation Government and leadership is dictated by two Archons, Ebony and Onyx; Each Figure controls different aspects of the nations interests.

Ebony Archon - Governs economical management, military and expansion.

Onyx Archon - Governs Diplomatic and political ventures, trade activity, internal affairs and Federation Culturalization.

The Skjöldungan culture is one of high morals, vast education and ever enhancing knowledge. Their citizens have unyielding devotion to their culture so crime is drastically rare, and the punishment for breaking the traditions of Nuingoliant is very harsh, unless shown to be innocent or unintentional of their accusation. Education is mandatory from a steadily cognitive age, and includes although not limited to; Advanced Literacy, History and rational thinking skills to assure each citizen is well versed in Grammatical talent and logic.

The official capital of the Federation of Skjöldunga is their glistening metropolis, a shining gem glaring through the North East; Käeturg City.

Ebony Archon,Taelus Arvanos;
Is the current Ebony Archon, in charge of all economical, military and expansion involvement of the Saraneae Federation. He is one of the most beloved citizens of Skjöldunga and made it through to his position with ease due to his charismatic attitude, kind nature... but also expertise in deception. Taelus has befriended a great many people during his life on Terraineus, and does not allow his kindness to shroud his intellect, as he personally has overseen every economical distribution of resources of the Federation. He also displays a rather childish albeit playful personality, always expressing good humour and treating every man, woman and child as a close friend. The High Chancellor is very fashionable, yet wears the traditional Ebony Archon attire, consisting of a thin and tight robe, finished by embellishes of light grey in a pattern proceeding to the neck, complimented by a largely decorated frill covering the back of the neck and head. He is known to have a psycho-kinetic ability to conjure illusions.

Käeturg City - Capital Resting in the canopies below the highest mountain of Skjöldunga, lies Käeturg, the capital city of the Saraneae Federation. The city is wide spread, and drags along the span of the mountain's rest; Well defended and fortified, the citizens within have little fear of invasion. Located moderately far off the North Eastern Coasts of the Grand Ocean of Terraineus, the city's ruling body sits upon the very mountain's peak, the mighty Black Citadel containing the rulership of the Federation accessible via a large, winding stair, well defended with a gate into the Peak District of the Citadel.

Caelest Village
Within a mountain east of Käeturg, rests Caelest, a sprawling village-spire which extends to the tip of the mountain. With the majority of constructs on the top, the housing and warehousing is contained in the mountain itself. The people of Caelest are very satisfied with their living conditions and are responsible for the majority of the nation's farming and agriculture.

Tulrieg Town
In the south of Skjöldunga, near the borders which separate the Federation from Avalar, is the peaceful town of Tulrieg. Primarily a fishing expansion, the people of the Town tend to keep to themselves, yet welcome travellers with open arms. The marsh harbour of Tulrieg hauls in the largest supply of fish in the Federation's influence.

Fort Ominaeux
Ominaeux is a far-eastern military expansion of the Saraneae Federation, and the current base of operations for the nation's expedition into the east. Fortified and capable of supplying a considerable force, The Fort is a vital foothold and strategic outpost for the Federation.

Galerash
Constructed within the Belmont Dynasty's Jungle region "Hawken", is the Federation Embassy of Galerash. Authorized and permitted by the Dynasty to promote inter- nation activity between the proud nations, the Embassy stands as a symbol of peace in the North.

Fortress Korval
In the far south reaches of Terraineus, on the the bottom of the country Archaedus, lies the mighty Federation Fortress of Korval, a heavily fortified and self-sufficient keep constructed for involvement of economical ventures in the south. Deployed from the trade vessel, the T.M.S Gulriosh, Korval stands as a profitable resource and trading hub for the Federation

The Federation has a very distinctive attitude toward the nations of Terraineus, they respect conduct and uniquity over raw strength or power; And highly admire discriminated or minority factions. Actions which do not work toward the Federation's ultimate goal, decrease the likeliness of gaining their favour.

Crime and Punishment:
The Saraneae Federation is a very strict nation in terms of law, and as such each citizen is expected to carry out the Oath of Nuingoliant throughout their life under fear of horrific consequences. If an individual fails to fulfil the code of duty, then they are deemed unworthy of our patronage and respect, and are dis-honed under threat of execution. The greatest crimes within the Federation are Apostasy and Murder of another brother/sister of the Oath, in which punishment is extremely severe, including gruelling tortures such as being slowly devoured by native Serpents of Skjöldunga, having been tied to the beam of an interceptor ship, and dragged through the ocean until the body becomes withered and useless, and in dire circumstances against traitors, being skinned alive then set ablaze.

Religion:
It is debatable that the Federation was once the most religiously fanatical nation on Terraineus, until their fanaticism shifted to their peculiar culture. In light of their new-found Agnostic tradition, they place reverence on lore keeping and the fascination of a fictional concept. The Culture is very unique and is fundamental to all citizens of the Federation. Night is considered sacred as it is the progenitor of darkness, and also Arachnids, as their anatomy is of great interest. A common necessity of Federation citizens is the preservation of lore and history, and demands that in the light of detriment to either, one's full resolve and even life be utilised to defend it. The practised concept of the Federation is that of Nuingoliant, a deity once worshipped within religions until it was looked upon in a more practical and atheistic view. It was a malevolent entity which took the form of a deathly Arachnid, commonly described as "The Pure Darkness".

Culture:
The people of the Federation suffer few flaws, as extreme emphasis is placed on education from a young and comprehending age. Each individual is given importance to their life, and learns to devoutly carry out their duties and learn of their place within the nation without hesitation. Poverty is not common within Skjöldunga, and sits at an impressively low 32%, whereas Illiteracy rests at 41%, this does the faction no credit, as it does not house even near the largest populations on Terraineus. Rank means everything in the Federation, and mind even more so, meaning that there is honour found by even the lowliest peasant in their day-to-day activities, but this also means that duty is of the greatest importance and failing to carry it out is met by harsh consequence.

Military:
The Saraneae Federation military has a very strict regime and is bound by a code of honour which is required by all soldiers of the nation. Although it is widely speculated that their forces can be harshly cruel, sadistic and zealous in combat. The entirety of combat presence and force belonging to the Federation consists of multiple ranks, and it is through accomplishment, strength, loyalty and power that one ascends the height of the Armed legion.

The first line of offensive Military is the Zealous Storm Troops, which are utilised to effectively rush and overwhelm the brunt of enemy lines and resistance in large number. These units are lightly armoured infantry (Commonly Leather) for haste and speed, and cruelly are expendable with low probability of surviving their charges and assaults. Mostly used in sabotage and ambushes, their high numbers make for good use in small sieges and raids.

Following the first offensive line, is the battalion of Myrmidons, serving as the vanguard of any combat assault. These troops commonly wield heavy and ranged weaponry, opposed to that of single handed blades or axes, and are relied upon to break defensive opposition from enemy of forces or strongholds. Essentially serving as the primary soldiers for the Federation's conflicts and battles. They are fitted in light body chain-mail.

A rank above that of a common footsoldier is a Ravager, which are versatile squad commanders that lead small groups of nine to eleven. Their strategic prowess and leadership is essential for effective guerilla warfare and securing of territories. They are required to wield a shield and heavy body plate-mail.

Upon the Federation's Military Elite, is the Dark Cleric. Significantly small in number, the Dark Cleric is considered the elite within the dark armed forces, and is capable of horrific forms of combat. Trained for decades to utilise Fear as the ultimate weapon, they are called upon to solve matters of espionage, assassination and quick eliminations to considerable threats.

Amongst the forces of the Federation, only few have ever been named worthy of knighting. The Ebony Knights are a small order of soldiers which have fulfilled their military duties to superb levels and have been ascended in honour to the grand rank of Ebony Knight. Always wielding bastard swords and clad in heavy armour, the Ebony Knight is taught to regard the life of others above their own, this means vigilant guardianship to allies and high ranking members of the Federation, and a higher importance on eliminating their foes. Most commonly utilised for escorting the highest renowned leaders of the nation, they are rarely called upon the battlefield and only in the most dire of circumstances, as they are a sight to be feared; The Ebony Knight is trained from life to death that they may slaughter tens of men in their place before falling in combat.

The Federation places taboo on retreating, as fear is the greatest weapon they can wield, they find dishonour in falling victim to it. As such, all armed soldiers receive training in survivability and first-aid, and in the event that aid is not possible, they are given no choice but to continue their fight, unrelentingly until the moment their hearts stop.

As of the 6th Term, 15th Morrow, the Saraneae Federation has officially joined the Northern trade agreement of the Advent Alliance. And has deployed envoys to construct embassies and other Economic influences through out the lands of the Dynasty and Monarchy for the ultimate goal of trade unity, to assist in connecting the northern routes to the southern.
