Events and happenings have left the Tzardom, unfortunately, much weaker in agriculture, order and power. Only recently have these aspects been called into question over the events which transpired since the Ibeshi incursion and the southern winter skirmishes. Talk amongst the Boyars, who declared loyalty to the crown, have been of failures and displays of weakness shown by the Mighty Tzar. Whispers in the backrooms and closed doors of the Tzardom where the crowns ears are deaf, ironically so because of the Boyars, tell of a weak leader and a failed commander.
The first failure laid at Mayakolovitch's feet was the sheer size of his ambitious campaigns into the south, claiming or destroying small forgotten villages of insignificant value. Bringing an army of hundreds of levies and armoured warriors to capture small defiant settlements. Even to the Tzar a farm, two houses and a small shed is considered a triumvirate victory. These campaigns stretched the empire so thin that the hierarchy of authority could not keep up, leading to a border of an empire so vast but unable to utilise or maintain it in any significant way.
The second failure was the raiding and sacking of the Tzardoms eastern most agricultural settlement, a bounty of potato crops which grew in the green luscious fields away from the freezing snow. The raiding is believed to be committed by the villagers under Rokkarstan close to the settlement, soldiers have reported cracks, holes and gaps in the small wall erected by villagers within Khroms borders to keep Rokkarians away. During the night hundreds, or perhaps thousands broke down the wall, marched into the Tzardoms territory and ate, stole and destroyed all of the crops in a single sweep. Frightened Khrom citizens fled further west for safety, refusing to return after seeing what they described as "mutilated creatures moaning in ecstasy whilst sucking whole potatoes".
These issues have led to immediate decrees by the Tzar to attempt to mend the problem. One is the build up of the eastern war camp and port guarding the eastern most port of the Tzardom, second is shrinking of the empires lines of control leading to a much less significant border. Thirdly will be the focus on maintaining order within the smaller border by increasing food supply from Vestria. Lastly the good news of the event is the new approach to diplomacy with Rokkarstan, the Tzar spoke of how "I will not stand for such things, I will deal with it". Time will tell if anything will change. The new plan of the Tzardom seems to be two fold, one is to make sure its people are well fed and the other is to make sure if they aren't, they're too drunk to notice. [/b]
