Our current era does not have cannons of any sort. I don't want to see towers and walls with cheap dispensers spammed on the side. Ever. They shoot arrows and will never fire cannon balls. Use them as discreet traps or other. They are not siege weapons that use gunpowder.

Even so, dispensers should never be relied upon for defence, you build in the perspective of a KINGDOM, you have hundreds even thousands of armed military with archers, build your walls to fit their positions.. not Nuingoliant-damned cannons in the 10th/11th century.
